Making an Impact – Self-Presentation and Interview Training for Returnees

How can I turn a complex international experience into a compelling and easy-to-understand professional story?

You have gained a wealth of experience during your time abroad. But can you explain what you did, what you achieved and what you bring to the table – clearly and convincingly in a job interview?

After an assignment in Development or Civil Peace Service, it can be challenging to turn a complex international experience into a clear and concise professional story. How do you explain your role and responsibilities? How much context does your interviewer really need? How do you highlight your achievements and skills without getting lost in the details? Which aspects of your experience do you want to share – and which would you rather leave out? And how can you respond confidently when faced with critical or unexpected questions?

This hands-on seminar gives you the opportunity to practise exactly that. You will work on your personal introduction, learn how to present your experience through concrete examples, and explore how to communicate your skills and motivation in a way that is relevant to your next career step.

The focus is on practice and feedback. Through simulated job interviews, you will try out different situations, experiment with different ways of presenting yourself, and receive constructive feedback from trainers and fellow participants.

By the end of the seminar, you will have a clearer sense of what you bring professionally, a stronger story for communicating your international experience, and more confidence in presenting yourself in job interviews.

The seminar starts on Friday at 6:00 pm with a joint dinner and ends on Sunday at 12:30 pm, followed by lunch.
